Can I hire a consultant I found on Leafr to my team for a full-time/salaried position?

How to bring a consultant you've worked with on Leafr onto your team in a full-time salaried role.

Can I hire a consultant full-time through Leafr?

Yes: if you find someone brilliant on Leafr and want to bring them into your team full-time, you can.

But because Leafr is designed to connect clients with vetted independent consultants, we have a policy in place to protect our talent pool and platform. Here’s how it works:

If you want to hire a consultant permanently

If you’ve worked with a consultant through Leafr and want to hire them into a full-time salaried role, you’re welcome to, but Leafr is owed a one-time fee under the terms of your project contract.

This helps us protect our network and continue offering quality matches and fair access to work.

The fee

  • If you hire a consultant within 12 months of the end of a Leafr project, you agree to pay Leafr a % of their first-year base salary. Check your project contract for this fee.

  • This does not apply to bonuses, benefits or extras, just base salary

  • The fee is due within 30 days of signing the employment contract

This also applies to:

  • Consultants hired on a +12 month contract (even if not permanent)

  • Any salaried or employed roles where the individual is no longer working as an independent contractor

How to do it

Right now, if you're planning to hire someone, just get in touch with the Leafr team and we’ll walk you through it.

In future, we’ll be adding a way to manage this directly through the platform: making it even easier to move from freelance to full-time when it makes sense.

Reminder: this only applies to full-time or long-term hires. If you're just booking more project work or day-rate support with the same consultant, you can keep doing that as normal through Leafr.
