Updated over 4 months ago

You set your own rates on Leafr, and you keep 100% of what you quote: we don't take a cut from you. We want you to charge fairly for your time and expertise. Here's our guide:

Day rates

Here's 3 options to calculate day rates:

1. Start at £400 and work up.

That is the lowest rate you can set on Leafr.

2. Use your previous salary

Take your previous salary, divide by 200 (rough working days in a year), then add 50% (to cover risk & lost benefits)

e.g. £65,000 / 200 + 50% = £488

3. Check from the average on Leafr

The average day rate Leafr is £600/day.

Once you've created your profile you can compare your day rate to other consultants, and remember: you can change this as you get more experience.

Fixed cost projects

For fixed cost projects, you’ve got two options:

  • Multiply your day rate by the number of days you think the work will take.

  • Or, use the client's budget, quote a close to or higher figure and focus on the value you’ll deliver, rather than the time it takes

This gives clients a clear price upfront and helps you get paid for outcomes, not just hours.
