How do Leafr contracts protect me?

How Leafr contracts save you time and reduce risk on projects.

Updated over 4 months ago

The first thing to say is, to date we've never had a bad or negative experience between a client and a consultant on Leafr. That's why we have a 4.8 'Excellent' score on Trustpilot, and a +86 Net Promoter Score.

However, we know things can occasionally go off track, and when they do, we’ve designed our contracts with lawyers to make sure you’re protected.

How do Contracts protect me as a project client?

Every project on Leafr is covered by a contract. If anything goes wrong, here’s how the contract keeps you covered:

Risk-free start

  • The first 10% of the project (capped at 5 days) is risk-free

  • If you're not happy during this period, you can ask to switch consultants

  • Leafr will cover the cost of the original consultant’s time, so you don’t lose out

2. Funds held in escrow

  • All fees are held in escrow until the work is approved

  • This gives both sides security and peace of mind

  • If a dispute arises, funds are protected while it’s resolved

3. Dispute mediation

  • Leafr steps in as a neutral party to help resolve any disputes

  • We’ll guide both sides based on the contract, scope, and communication history

  • While we support resolution, we’re not legally responsible if agreement isn’t reached

4. Contract terms that favour clarity and reduce risk

  • You sign with Leafr, not the individual consultant — meaning you get one contract, one point of contact, and more legal protection

  • You can end the contract at any time with 7 days’ written notice

  • If contract terms are broken, it can be ended in 3 days — work completed still needs to be paid for

  • You keep full ownership and control of all work outputs, IP and brand materials, unless agreed otherwise

  • Data privacy is guaranteed — confidential info is treated securely and never shared without permission

  • Mutual protection — Leafr and the client indemnify each other, and both Leafr and consultant liability is capped at the value of the project

  • It’s not an employment relationship — the contract makes it clear this is a service-based agreement with an independent contractor, not a job or a partnership
