How do I delay or withdraw a project I’ve shared?

(Client article) How to update the project status or timelines on Leafr, update timelines or cancel applicants are informed if plans change.

Updated over 5 months ago

This article is aimed at clients. If you're looking for help with your consultant account (for working on projects), please see the 'Consultants' section of the Help centre.

When circumstances change or project requirements shift, you may need to modify or cancel a project you've already posted. Leafr makes it easy to manage these situations while keeping consultants informed.

Changing project statuses

To delay, or withdraw a project, head to your Projects page where you'll see all your active and past projects listed.

Find the project you want to modify and look for the three-dot menu icon on the right side of the project card.

Click this menu to reveal the available project management options:

Delaying a Project

  1. Select "Delay Project" from the dropdown menu to postpone your project timeline.

  2. A dialog box will appear asking you to provide a reason for the delay, which helps consultants understand the situation.

  3. Choose the length of delay from the dropdown options: 2 weeks, 1 month, 1-3 months, or 3+ months.

  4. Click "Yes" to confirm the delay, and all applicants will automatically receive notification about the timeline change.

Withdrawing a Project

  1. Choose "Withdraw Project" from the same dropdown menu if you need to cancel the project entirely.

  2. The system will ask for confirmation since this action cannot be undone once completed.

  3. All consultants who have applied will receive automatic notifications that the project has been withdrawn.

Understanding the difference

Delaying a project keeps it active but adjusts expectations for all current applicants about the new timeline.

Withdrawing completely removes the project and closes all active applications permanently.

Communication with Applicants

The platform automatically sends professional notifications to all applicants whenever you delay, withdraw, or modify a project.

These notifications include your reason for the change when you've provided one, helping maintain good relationships with the consultant community.
