How to earn extra commission by referring clients or projects to Leafr, and how you can help clients get a discount on their first project.

Updated over 5 months ago

On Leafr, you can earn money by referring clients to the platform.

We pay you £250 for each client you refer that successfully staffs a project, and the client will get a 10% discount on their project, so it's a win-win!

This applies even to projects that you refer that another Consultant ends up doing, so you can refer multiple clients who post projects to the network, and you'll get £250 for each one that staffs.

It's easy to do this on Leafr, whether you know all the project details already or simply want to connect us with a potential client.

How to refer Clients to Leafr

  • Access the referral page through the button at the bottom of the left-hand menu labeled "Refer a Client or Project" (You can also do this via the completed project page - if you've completed one)

  • Click "Start" on the initial overview page to begin the referral process

Who is doing the work?

Note: If you are the one hiring and paying, then you'll need to create a client account by clicking the 'Create Client Account' option. Otherwise:

  • Yes - Select if you'll personally take on the project work: for example if you're already speaking to a client outside of Leafr and want to get a referral fee

  • No / Not Sure - Select if you just want to refer a client to Leafr. They will share a project to the network, or choose someone to work with themselves.

Project and Client Details Options

Based on your previous selection, you'll be asked if you already know the project details:

  • Yes - You'll be prompted to provide:

    • Project scope description, Rate information etc. It's OK if you don't have all of these

    • if you've already signed a contract status you can upload one here, but we recommend you do this before you sign a contract

  • No - You'll skip directly to the client details form, where you enter the referred client's contact information.

Submission and Next Steps

  • Click "Submit Referral" to complete the process

  • Next steps:

    • Leafr will forward your referral to the client to approve (if they don't approve, we can't process the referral)

    • Once they do Leafr will handle the sharing application and application process within 48 hours.

    • If the project is shared out to the network, we'll need to wait for the client to staff it

    • When the project is staffed and 'Live' we'll pay your commission within 2 weeks.

  • Try not to refer when you have signed a contract already: this can cause confusion, and we don't accept referrals when the project has started

  • Outside of the discount, Leafr fees will apply as standard

  • You can't refer existing Leafr clients. If they have posted or staffed projects on Leafr before, the referral won't count

  • You can't refer clients we are already speaking to
